Day 1 and Mr. Bardos arrives at school with another interesting item in his panniers.

Because Laszlo Bardos is the master of everything and is ALWAYS prepared as he arrived at school for our trip departure this morning with a chain in his panniers.  Why do we need a chain?  Well, this is an efficient way to lock up multiple bikes once we arrive in Quebec City. He is looking forward to using the 20' of chain as a tow rope after the conclusion of the bike trip.  By the way, 20' of chain weighs approximately 15-20 pounds. Most cyclists pay big money to eliminate weight from their bikes. Not Mr. Bardos! The sleeve on the chain is to prevent the chain from scratching the bikes and it was sewn by Bardos himself!
