Days 4 and 5 Back in Vermont

We've had two relatively flat ride days since I last posted the photos of the morning of Day 4.  Thursday we started at Cumberland Bay State Park in Plattsburgh, NY and ended at the home of Sarah Stearns in Swanton, VT.  The part of the route that stood out for some was crossing the bridge back into Vermont.  Little hills seemed like big ones to some...how quickly we forget what true climbing is!!  Each day was quite hot, so we are thankful we are never far from the water.

One of three turtles spotted along the path towards Sarah's house.

Our stay at Sarah's was truly a high point for everyone!  As you can see from the photos we were treated like royalty and loved every minute of it!  That night some slept through the thunderstorms in their tents while about half of us ended up on the floor in the living room.

Could be the only time we get EVERYONE in the water.--it was finally a hot day and the water wasn't as cold as at some of the campgrounds....oh wait, Ms. Radney was on the shore with Sarah and Cider.

From baking chocolate chip cookies with Sarah ....

...to learning to use a compass with Doc

Ice cream sundae bar included at least 5 kinds of ice cream,  three kinds of sauces, two kinds of cones, mini-M & Ms, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, multiple colors of sprinkles, mini marshmallows, and cherries!!
And Keo made sure he tried is ALL!!!!!!!!!

A lot of laughter after the sundaes...hmmm, I wonder why.

Though you see some smiles in this photo, I think we were all a bit sad to say good bye!

We had more rain without the thunder last night, but the morning has given a reprieve that may only be a short one.  Such is the life of cycle touring.

Enjoying some down time.

As I type this Mr. Bardos and I (SAG wagon drivers for the morning) are waiting for the group at Scout ONE, the coffee shop where Ms. Radney learned her fabulous barista skills.  The group will meet us here for a treat after riding the causeway and taking the 200 yard bike ferry across an opening along the path on the lake.

Arriving at the end of the line before needing the ferry to cross the 200 yard break in the bike path.

Yummy latte at Scout ONE -- blogging and awaiting the cycling crew
